Finally, some good news is coming from Abhishek Kapoor’s production house Guy In The Sky Pictures. His much-awaited film ‘Kedarnath’, which had hit the roadblock after ex-co-producers Prernaa Arora and Arjun N Kapoor filed a lawsuit against the director, accusing him of wasting excessive money and resources during the shoot in Kedarnath, Uttarakhand, has now booked a new date for its release. Earlier slated to arrive in cinemas on 21st December, the film will now hit the silver screen on 30th November.
Starring Bollywood heartthrob Sushant Singh Rajput and newcomer Sara Ali Khan in lead roles, ‘Kedarnath’ began its production in September last year. The second schedule of the film is about to begin in next couple of days. Announcing the new release date of his film, director Abhishek Kapoor tweeted earlier today, “We clean up pretty nice. November 30 it is. Save the date, everyone. Jai Bholenath.”
Apart from announcing the new release date, Kapoor also shared the latest poster of the movie. It instantly arrests your attention. The poster features Lord Shiva in Kedarnath along with a silhouette of Sushant Singh Rajput planting a passionate kiss on the forehead of Sara Ali Khan in the background.
Set against the backdrop of the devastating floods and landslides which claimed many innocent lives in the temple town in June 2013, ‘Kedarnath’ is basically a love story revolving around the characters played by Rajput and Khan. Sara Ali Khan, daughter of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, makes her debut with the movie.
Earlier, the film was being co-produced by Abhishek Kapoor’s Guy In The Sky Pictures in association with Prernaa Arora and Arjun N Kapoor’s KriArj Entertainment. But once KriArj Entertainment decided to bow out of the project due to various differences, Ronnie Screwvala and his production house RSVP came onboard to co-produce the film.
So, don’t miss ‘Kedarnath’ in cinemas near you form 30th November onwards.
