Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor starrer ‘102 Not Out’ has hit the right chord with the audience with everyone in awe of the endearing performances both the seasoned actors have delivered in the movie. The film, which hit the silver screen on 4th May 2018, has been performing well at the cash counters ever since its release. After an impressive weekend, which pulled in around Rs. 16.65 crores, the film maintained its pace on Monday as well and racked up 3.02 crores.
Directed by Umesh Shukla, ‘102 Not Out’ minted Rs. 3.52 on its opening day. Showing an upward trend on the second day, it added another 5.53 crores to its pocket. The collection spiked further on Sunday, helping the makers earn another Rs. 7.60 crores, talking the first-weekend collection to a fabulous Rs. 16.65 crores. If we add the Monday income of the film to the weekend collection, ‘102 Not Out’ has earned Rs. 19.67 so far, which is great for a film with no heroine and song and dance routines.
‘102 Not Out’ has been produced at a moderate budget of Rs. 30 crores. If the film wants to be called a successful venture, it will have to maintain its performance throughout the weekdays. An increase in footfalls over the second weekend will ensure that it brings more moolah for the stakeholders. While it is now a given that the movie can easily make a lifetime income of Rs. 35 crores, it will be interesting to see how far it goes after Alia Bhatt’s much-awaited film ‘Raazi’ hits the marquee on 11th May 2018.
