Last seen in the Akshat Verma directed ‘Kaalakaandi’ (2018), superstar Saif Ali Khan is now playing a pivotal part in producer Aanand L Rai’s next production venture which is being helmed by ‘Manorama Six Feet Under’ (2007) and ‘NH 10’ (2015) fame director Navdeep Singh. According to sources, the big-ticket film will see Khan in the role of a vengeful Pathan.
Earlier, the movie was rumoured to be titled ‘Battle of Buxor’, followed by ‘Dussehra’ and ‘Kaptaan’. However, as per sources, the team has lost out on both the titles and is yet to find an apt title of the film. “The project lost out on two titles, ‘Soorma’ and more recently, ‘Hunter’, since both are registered by other productions already,” a source close to the development reveals.
The film is being shot at a brisk pace. After wrapping up the first schedule a couple of days back, Saif Ali Khan has now begun the second schedule in Devgarh where he will shoot a number of action sequences during the 32-day schedule. We hear from a source that the actor has learned sword-fighting and knives play for the action sequences. “Saif began training in sword-fighting and knives play last month. The unit will be shooting in the sanctuary and hills of Kali Ghati, where there are many bridges and tunnels constructed by the British. Kunjbihari Mandir, famous for the many bats that live inside the roof of the structure, is in the heart of the town,” the source says.
Talking about the other star cast, the movie also features ‘Mukkabaaz’ (2018) actress Zoya Hussain, Manav Vij and Deepak Dobriyal. Besides these actors, it will see Sonakshi Sinha in a special cameo. Some reports also suggest that evergreen actor Anil Kapoor has also been signed to play a significant role.
