2018 is going to be an exciting year for actor Arjun Kapoor. On one hand, two of his much-awaited films – ‘Namastey England’ and ‘Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar’ will hit theatres. And, on the other hand, he will begin work on his first historical film, ‘Panipat’. Directed by distinguished Hindi filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker, ‘Panipat’ also stars superstar Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon in principal. In his 5 years’ long career, it will be the first time when Kapoor shares the screen space with Dutt in a movie. The actor has been a great fan of the star and is ecstatic about joining hands with him in ‘Panipat’.
Sharing his excitement, Kapoor told a daily, “I am excited. I will be nervous only after I reach the sets. When such films are announced, you look forward and as an actor, you have grown up wanting to do these things,” said Kapoor.
Talking about Sanjay further, the ‘Mubarakan’ (2017) actor says that Dutt is a benchmark and being able to do an action movie with the action star is going to be very exciting. “Sanjay Sir is a benchmark when it comes to action genre and to do a film, a proper action film, with him is very exciting. I hope to enjoy more,” he adds.
Based on the third Battle of Panipat fought in 1761 between the Maratha Empire and the King of Afghanistan, Ahmad Shah Abdali, ‘Panipat’ is being bankrolled by Sunita Gowariker and Rohit Shelatkar. The historical drama releases on 6th December 2019.
