Sanju teaser isn’t coming out during IPL match, confirms Rajkumar Hirani

Of late, social media has been buzzing with the news that the teaser of Rajkumar Hirani’s upcoming film ‘Sanju’, a biopic on Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt, will be launched during an IPL match between Mumbai Indians vs Sunrisers Hyderabad on 24th April. However, the filmmaker denies all such reports and claims. “It is not correct news that it is going to be released during the Indian Premier League (IPL) match. As far as I understand, we are launching the teaser before that. It will be on the morning of April 24. In the evening, it will be shown during the IPL match,” said the acclaimed filmmaker.

‘Sanju’ stars Ranbir Kapoor in the role of actor Sanjay Dutt. The ‘Jagga Jasoos’ (2017) actor has worked day and night to ensure that he does full justice to the role he plays on the silver screen. ‘Sanju’ is an important film for Kapoor. After taking a flying start in initial years, Kapoor’s career nosedived in the past couple of years as many of his big films fell flat at the box-office one after another. Everyone has pinned a lot of hope on his new film. Fans are confident that Hirani’s movie will help Ranbir revive his career in Bollywood once again.

When the director was asked about the same, he said, “He was always a superstar. He never went away. He is a fantastic actor and I really enjoyed working with him and in future, I would love to work with him again on a film.”

After a teaser launch on 24th April, the official trailer of the film will be released in May. Produced by Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the film is slated to hit the big screen on 29th June.
