After a lot of speculations and countless reports churned out by various media outlets around its release, the makers of the upcoming Rajinikanth starrer ‘Kaala’ have finally booked 7th June to roll out the movie in cinemas. Produced by Rajinikanth’s son-in-law Dhanush under Wunderbar Films, the gangster drama is being touted as one of the biggest films of 2018. Dhanush took to Twitter to announce the official release date of the flick.
Directed by Pa Ranjith, ‘Kaala’ was earlier scheduled to hit screens on 27th April 2018. However, the whole unit of the mega-budgeted film had to undergo a lot of problems because the Tamil industry went on strike on March 1. Ultimately, the makers had to postpone the movie as post-production work is yet to be finished.
However, the good news is that the film has completed its censor formalities. It has been issued a U/A certificate by CBFC. Sources close to the team reveal that the Censor Board passed the film after 14 cuts.
Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Kaala’ reportedly revolves around a Mumbai slumlord. Besides him, the film boasts the presence of a number of stars in the cast, including Huma Qureshi, Samuthirakani, Eswari Rao, Anjali Patil, Sukanya, Aravind Akash and Sayaji Shinde. The movie also stars Nana Patekar as the main antagonist.
‘Kaala’ marks Rajinikanth’s second collaboration with Pa Ranjith. The duo had earlier worked together on ‘Kabali’ in the year 2016.
