Days after signing Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Chhuriyaan’, which also stars Sanya Malhotra and Radhika Madan in lead roles, Sunil Grover has reportedly bagged a major part in another big-ticket flick. Yes, the actor-comedian will play Salman Khan’s friend in his forthcoming movie ‘Bharat’. To be helmed by ‘Sultan’ (2016) and ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ (2017) fame Ali Abbas Zafar, the film stars Priyanka Chopra as the female lead.

Grover will play a prominent role in the film, unlike other comedians who appear on the screen to crack a couple of jokes and then disappear. “Sunil Grover will be playing Salman Khan’s friend in ‘Bharat’. His role is not like what we see in other films where comedians are used for a couple of comic punches and then they disappear. He has an interesting role in the film,” a leading newspaper quotes a source as saying.

Sunil, who kept a low profile after his massive fallout with actor-comedian Kapil Sharma, is currently busy with a new cricket show called, ‘Dhan Dhana Dhan’. The actor is expected to start shooting for his film projects soon.

‘Bharat’ is an official adaptation of 2014 South Korean film, ‘Ode to My Father’. It will feature Salman Khan in a never-seen-before avatar where the superstar dons five different looks. The movie reunites Khan and Priyanka Chopra after a gap of a decade. The duo was last seen in the film, ‘God Tussi Great Ho’ (2008).

‘Bharat’, produced by Alvira Khan Agnihotri, Atul Agnihotri and Bhushan Kumar, went on the floor earlier this week. The film is scheduled to hit screens on Eid, next year.
