If a report on a leading entertainment portal is to be believed, one of the most loved onscreen couples of Hindi cinema – Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh – has been signed by Yash Raj Films for their upcoming venture. Padukone and Singh, who are rumoured to be a couple off screen as well, have starred together in three films so far – ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram Leela’ (2013), ‘Bajirao Mastani’ (2015) and ‘Padmaavat’ (2018) – and all of them emerged victorious at the box office. Looks like Yash Raj Films’ head honcho, Aditya Chopra, has realized what a powerful draw Deepika and Ranveer are at the ticket window, and hence offered a new film to them.
While all the three movies which both the actors have done together have been love stories with period settings, nothing much is known about their new project with Yash Raj Films. The portal further reports that Deepika and Ranveer are quite psyched up about teaming up for the fourth time within a period of five years. To be directed by Maneesh Sharma, who last helmed Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Fan’ (2016), the untitled film is expected to begin rolling next year. An official announcement is awaited from Yash Raj Films on the collaboration.
After the release of her last film ‘Padmaavat’, Deepika was all set to begin work on Vishal Bhardwaj’s next from the month of March. However, due to her and her co-star Irrfan Khan’s poor health, the project was put on the backburner. Since Bhardwaj cannot start his film till Irrfan is back to being healthy and fit for the shoot, Deepika has enough time to complete one film in between.
