Looks like actor Arjun Kapoor doesn’t want to take it slow at this point in his professional life. At least, the way he has been signing films left, right and centre of late suggests so. A couple of weeks ago, he was finalized for the Hindi remake of Telugu blockbuster film ‘Arjun Reddy’ (2017) followed by Ashutosh Gowariker’s upcoming period drama ‘Panipat’. And the latest we hear that the young star has given his consent to star in filmmaker Raj Kumar Gupta’s next directorial venture.
According to latest media reports, Raj Kumar Gupta, who is riding high on the success of his latest film ‘Raid’ starring Ajay Devgn and Saurabh Shukla, approached Kapoor for an action thriller a couple of days back. Tentatively titled ‘Most Wanted’, the film might see the actor in the role of an intelligence officer.
A source close to the project reveals, “A couple of weeks ago, Raj Kumar finalised Arjun Kapoor to play an intelligence officer and the hero of this do-or-die covert operation. The two have had a couple of narrations and long telephonic conversations about the project recently.”
“Arjun loved the script and Raj Kumar has demanded start-to-finish dates because he wants to shoot in one go without any distractions. Since Arjun has already committed to three yet-to-release films, he is working out his dates. They are both keen to take this story of a terrorist, who was eventually captured without a single shot being fired, to the world soon,” the source revealed.
Besides ‘Panipat’ and ‘Arjun Reddy’ remake, Arjun will also be seen in Dibakar Banerjee’s ‘Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar’ and Vipul Shah’s ‘Namaste England’. Both films are scheduled to release in 2018.
