Anushka Sharma is one of those rare actresses in Bollywood who never feared taking risks in life. After starring in a couple of Hindi movies, the gorgeous actress surprised one and all when she announced the launch of her own production house, Clean Slate Films, at a young age. And the kinds of films she has backed under her banner to date have been far away from the regular masala entertainers of Bollywood. Her choice of films has always been different and keeping her track record of doing diverse films intact, the actress-producer is now going to produce an out-and-out comedy film.
Talking about the new project of Clean Slate Films, a source reveals, “Right now, details are sketchy. But what can be confirmed is that Anushka has been very interested, for a while now, in trying her hand at comedy. Although she as well as her team is tight-lipped about it, the project is finally in the process of being put together.” The source also adds that the actress has chosen the subject after a lot of deliberations with her team.
Apart from bankrolling the untitled project, the source adds, Anushka may play the female lead in it. If all goes well, the movie will mount the shooting floor in January 2019. “Anushka will take the call (whether or not she wants to star in it) once she completed her current acting projects. The actor, who has been exploring diverse subjects and taking calculated and successful risks as an actor as well as a producer, feels that it’s the best time to experiment with comedy.”
Anushka Sharma has produced three films under Clean Slate Films so far – ‘NH 10’ (2015), ‘Phillauri’ (2017) and ‘Pari’ (2018) – and all of them have performed well at the cash counter. Talking about her upcoming films as an actress, she will shortly be seen in a guest appearance in Rajkumar Hirani’s next ‘Sanju’. Then she has ‘Sui Dhaaga’ which enters cinemas on 28th September. Her much-awaited film ‘Zero’ with Shah Rukh Khan is slated to release on 21st December.
