Tiger Shroff starrer ‘Baaghi 2’ hits the jackpot at the box office

    Actor Tiger Shroff and his latest film ‘Baaghi 2’ are the latest talk of the tinsel town these days. The film, which is a sequel to the actor’s last hit ‘Baaghi’ (2016), has been doing a phenomenal business at the cash counter ever since hitting the silver screen on 30th March 2018. Within one week of its release, the Ahmed Khan directorial has racked up a massive earning of Rs. 112.85 crores. This collection is huge considering the fact that Tiger Shroff is only five-films old in the movies.

    Having collected Rs. 112.85 crores within one week of its box office run, ‘Baaghi 2’ has become the second highest grosser of 2018. The action entertainer is only behind Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus ‘Padmaavat’ which had minted over 300 crores at the domestic box office before wrapping up its box office journey. The movie starred established actors like Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.

    While tweeting the first-week collection of ‘Baaghi 2’, well-known film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, “#Baaghi2 has an EXTRAORDINARY Week 1… Emerges SECOND HIGHEST GROSSER of 2018 [so far]… Weekend 2 will shed light on its *approx* lifetime biz… Fri 25.10 cr, Sat 20.40 cr, Sun 27.60 cr, Mon 12.10 cr, Tue 10.60 cr, Wed 9.10 cr, Thu 7.95 cr. Total: Rs. 112.85 cr. India biz.”

    Interestingly, its predecessor ‘Baaghi’ had made only Rs. 127 crores worldwide in its lifetime run. On the other hand, ‘Baaghi 2’ has pulled in Rs. 151.67 crores globally within one week. The film is set to earn beyond Rs. 300 crores before closing its theatrical run At the global box office.

    Directed by Ahmed Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, ‘Baaghi 2’ has turned out to be a blockbuster film and now the team is looking forward to beginning work on the next instalment of the series, which was announced much before the release of the second part.
