Bollywood star Arjun Kapoor has his plate full of many plum projects at the moment. The actor wrapped up filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee’s upcoming directorial ‘Sandeep Aur Pinki Faraar’ just a few weeks ago. He also finished the Punjab schedule of his next ‘Namastey England’ recently. The next project that is going to consume a lot of the actor’s time is Ashutosh Gowariker’s period drama ‘Panipat’, which he recently signed along with Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt.
However, the list of his upcoming projects doesn’t end just there. Kapoor will also headline the Hindi remake of Telugu blockbuster film ‘Arjun Reddy’. According to our sources, the film will mount the shooting floor in 2019. “Discussions have been on for a long time as Arjun has his date diary full. He is planning to kick off the Hindi remake in 2019,” informed a source.
The Hindi remake of ‘Arjun Reddy’ has been titled as ‘Varma’. “The protagonist’s first name will remain intact in the Hindi remake”, reveals the source.
While the original film was directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the makers have yet not finalized the director who will call the shots for the Hindi remake.
Talking about the film, a source has earlier said, “It follows Arjun’s anger issues after he suffers a heartbreak. The film was widely acclaimed and earned cult status in Telangana. Now, the premise will be adapted to a North Indian setting.”
