With her first movie ‘Kedarnath’ facing new hurdles with every passing day, newcomer Sara Ali Khan is now gearing up to begin work on Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar’s upcoming joint venture ‘Simmba’ which stars Ranveer Singh as the male lead. The regular shooting of the film is expected to commence in next couple of weeks, and if the makers of ‘Kedarnath’ fail to sort out their difference soon, ‘Simmba’ might become Khan’s debut film.
The latest we have heard about Sara Ali Khan is that the newbie is eyeing an out-and-out commercial film opposite Varun Dhawan who is known for his masala entertainers like ‘Main Tera Hero’ (2014), ‘Dishoom’ (2016) and ‘Judwaa 2’ (2017).
A source told an English daily, “There is a shortage of the younger actresses to work in entertainers because most of these actresses are looking at performance-oriented and female lead films only. There is a severe shortage of actresses in the younger generation who have a star status attached to them and are keen on doing the masala movies.”
Sara wants to star in a film which well-known filmmaker David Dhawan is planning to announce with son, Varun Dhawan. “Sara is looking to take over that slot and is keen to be a part of David’s next project with Varun, which is likely to be announced after a while,” adds the source.
Meanwhile, Varun is awaiting the release of his forthcoming film ‘October’, which is slated to release on 13th April. He is also busy shooting his next ‘Sui Dhaaga’ with co-star Anushka Sharma. Produced by Yash Raj Films, ‘Sui Dhaaga’ brings Dhawan and Sharma together for the first time.
