After ‘Ek Villain’ Ekta Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra to join hands again

After the runaway success of their first film ‘Ek Villain’ (2014), producer Ekta Kapoor and actor Sidharth Malhotra might come together for their second collaboration. According to some sources, the duo is joining hands once again for a film which will be helmed by a debutant director. Though the makers have not finalized any title for the film as yet, sources claim the venture will mount the shooting floor in a few months from now.

Revealing some more info about the project, a well-placed source reveals to a popular tabloid, “It’s a small town love story with edgy characters. As soon as Ekta heard it, she immediately reached out to Sidharth. She believes it’s a great role and a perfect film for them to come together. The film is expected to roll in a couple of months. The makers will begin the reccee soon and zero in on a leading lady.”

‘Ek Villain’ was indeed a good film which did not only impress the audience but was praised by critics as well. With their new venture, Ekta and Sidharth hope to spell the same magic once again. “The duo hopes to recreate the magic with their reunion,” adds the source.

Meanwhile, Sidharth Malhotra is currently busy with his upcoming film ‘Kargil: Sher Shah’. The film is a biopic on Kargil war martyr Captain Vikram Batra. Ekta, on the other hand, is next producing a handful of films, including ‘Mental Hai Kya’, ‘Laila Majnu’ and three untitled projects with noted Bollywood directors.

An official announcement on her next film with Sidharth Malhotra is awaited.
