Shraddha Kapoor denies being approached for ‘Bharat’ and ‘Shotgun Shaadi’

It’s an old practice almost across all film producing countries in the world that even before a project is formally announced by the makers, people start speculating about the names of actors who might topline them. Our Bollywood is no different! In a recent development in tinsel town, actress Shraddha Kapoor’s name was being associated with Ali Abbas Zafar’s upcoming film ‘Bharat’ and debutant director Prashant Singh’s ‘Shotgun Shaadi’. While ‘Bharat’ is being headlined by Salman Khan, ‘Shotgun Shaadi’ stars Sidharth Malhotra in the lead role. However, the actress has now come out to clarify that she has not been approached for any of the aforementioned projects.

“There are a couple of films that my name is being associated with when I haven’t even been approached. The only films I am working on are ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’, ‘Stree’ and ‘Saaho’. My producers will announce if and when I sign another project. Till then please don’t believe in any speculations,” Shraddha said in a statement.

Shraddha is shooting for all her three upcoming films simultaneously. Her multilingual action entertainer ‘Saaho’ with ‘Baahubali’ star Prabhas is nearing completion. Her horror-comedy flick ‘Stree’, which also features Rajkummar Rao’, is currently being shot in Chanderi, Bhopal, and is expected to wrap its shoot in next couple of weeks. ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ is the third film the actress is working on. Helmed by Shree Narayan Singh, ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ also stars Shahid Kapoor and Yami Gautam in pivotal roles.
