Ever since Varun Dhawan debuted in Hindi films with Karan Johar’s ‘Student Of The Year’ (2012), all the movies that he has starred in have been big money-spinners at the box office. His enviable track record makes him one of the most sought-after actors in Bollywood today. Though Dhawan has mostly been seen in comic-capers, the actor has time and again said that he enjoys being part of dark and gritty films like Sriram Raghavan’s ‘Badlapur’ which he did in 2015 and received widespread appreciation for his stirring performance. His next film ‘October’, which is coming from the stable of award-winning filmmaker Shoojit Sircar, also falls in the same category.
Over the course of 10 movies that the actor has done to date, the audience has never seen Varun in an out-and-out romantic film. But if some sources are to be believed, the actor is all set to join forces with acclaimed filmmaker Imtiaz Ali for a romantic entertainer. According to reports, Ali, who is known for making modern love stories, has already met Dhawan twice this month and the actor is likely to sign the project on the dotted line soon. The film is still untitled. Ali is currently looking for the leading lady for it.
As we all know that Ali was set to reunite with actor Shahid Kapoor for an upcoming untitled film, however, the project fell through and has been put on the backburner after its producers showed their reluctance in producing such an experimental movie. This left Ali with nothing but begin work on his next venture.
Varun Dhawan’s ‘October’ is entering cinemas on 13th April 2018.
