Salman doesn’t play a double role in Kick 2, clears Sajid Nadiadwala

Superstar Salman Khan will be seen in a handful of big-ticket movies in coming two years. The actor will kick off 2018 with the release of his forthcoming action entertainer ‘Race 3’. Scheduled to release on 15th June, the flick is the third instalment of the highly popular Hindi film series, ‘Race’ (2008). Right after wrapping up ‘Race 3’, Salman will begin work on Ali Abbas Zafar’s upcoming directorial venture ‘Bharat’, which is being bankrolled by Khan’s brother-in-law, Vivek Agnihotri. The actor is expected to start shooting for his two next films, ‘Dabangg 3’ and ‘Kick 2’ simultaneously with ‘Bharat’.

Recently, some media outlets reported that Khan will play a double role in ‘Kick 2’. However, filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala, who is directing and producing the film, has rubbished all such reports. “That’s not true. I can’t reveal much, all I can say is that it’s something different. The scale on which we are mounting ‘Kick 2’ is huge. Anybody who works with Salman has a great responsibility of making sure they match up to his fans’ expectations,” Sajid said.

‘Kick 2’ is yet to mount the shooting floor, but Sajid has hinted about the next part of the series. “I was nervous while directing Kick because it was my first film. If everything falls into place for the second part, then there is definitely a chance of ‘Kick 3’. If we can successfully tell Devil’s story again, then this franchise is here to stay,” he added.

Sajid is currently writing the script for ‘Kick 2’. When asked what works best with Salman as far as making a film with him is concerned, he said, “For him, it’s the chemistry between the director, producer and him that works the most. We always planned to make the movie. I’ll need about a year to finish writing it.”

Meanwhile, Sajid is gearing up for the release of his next production ‘Baaghi 2, slated to hit screens on 30th March.
