Dharma Productions, spearheaded by immensely talented filmmaker Karan Johar, is known to churn out one film after another. However, there have been occasions when some much-publicised projects from the banner ran into bottlenecks.
After their much-hyped movie ‘Shuddhi’, it looks like KJo’s forthcoming film with director Abhishek Verman has also caught an evil eye. Why are we saying so? Actually, the movie was about to mount the shooting floor with Sridevi. However, destiny had something else in the store and the veteran actress passed away weeks before the commencement of the shoot. After her sad demise, Karan thought to shelve the project forever. However, he decided to keep it alive with Madhuri Dixit who signed the film on the dotted line recently. But before the film could start rolling, the latest we hear that superstar Sanjay Dutt, who was all set to play a pivotal role, could be asked to bow out of the film.
“There is no way Madhuri will work with Sanjay Dutt. They parted ways as friends and colleagues in 1993 after Subhash Ghai’s ‘Khalnaayak’ (1993), vowing never to be associated again. Now that Madhuri has taken over Shiddat from Sridevi, it is evident that Dutt will be eased out,” reveals a source to a popular daily.
Well, when the fans of these two stars came to know that the duo will be sharing the screen space again in Karan Johar’s next production, they were really happy. However, their happiness may turn out to be short-lived as Dutt and Dixit will perhaps never star together in a film.
