If Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan sets his eyes on something he wants to achieve or do, he won’t stop until he has it. That’s how he is and we all know that very well. Bollywood superstar, who is currently shooting for his forthcoming film ‘Thugs Of Hindostan’ with megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Sheikh, has plans to make a film series on Indian epic Mahabharata for a long time now. He has time and again said that if there is any project which is very close to his heart, it has to be a series on the Indian epic. Looks like that the most ambitious project of the superstar is about to turn into a reality with the help of India’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani. Yes, you heard that right! According to some latest reports, the business tycoon has decided to back Aamir’s multi-crore project by co-producing it.
‘Mahabharata’, if ever made, will be the biggest and costliest Indian film till date as it requires a massive amount of Rs. 1000 crores just for the making part of it. Aamir had once said that the film might take ten years of his career if it’s ever made. With Mukesh Ambani coming onboard as a co-producer, we believe that now it has to be a cakewalk for Aamir as he has got the backing one of the richest men on planet earth.
‘Mahabharata’ is expected to be a 5-movie series and the first part of the series might be helmed by filmmaker Advait Chandan, who had recently directed the critically and commercially successful film ‘Secret Superstar’ (2017) for Aamir Khan Productions.
Aamir may start work on his ambitious project right after wrapping up Yash Raj Films’ ‘Thugs Of Hindostan’. Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, the film is scheduled to enter cinemas on 7th November 2018.
