Even before her debut movie ‘Kedarnath’ hits the silver screen later this year, Sara Ali Khan, the daughter of popular Hindi film actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, has bagged yet another big-ticket Bollywood project. Filmmakers Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty have roped in Sara to play the female lead in their forthcoming joint venture, titled ‘Simmba’.
Starring Ranveer Singh in the role of a cop called Sangram Bhalerao, ‘Simmba’ was announced last year. There has been a spate of speculations around the leading lady of the masala entertainer ever since. From Janhvi Kapoor to Deepika Padukone, several popular names from the tinsel town have cropped in the past few months but, putting all the speculations aside, the makers have now announced Sara Ali Khan as the female lead of their mega venture.
Interestingly, Sara Ali Khan was about to make her acting debut with a film by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Unfortunately, things did not fall into place back then and the newcomer was then signed by KriArj Entertainment for their venture ‘Kedarnath’. But now, with Sara coming back to Dharma Productions again, things seem to have come full circle for her.
Presented by Reliance Entertainment, ‘Simmba’ is being produced by Rohit Shetty’s Rohit Shetty Picturez and Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The movie is scheduled for its theatrical release on December 28, 2018.
Talking about Sara Ali Khan’s debut vehicle ‘Kedarnath’, the film will hit the silver screen on 23rd November 2018. Helmed by acclaimed filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor, ‘Kedarnath’ stars Sushant Singh Rajput as the male lead.
