Mukesh Chhabra, one of the most popular casting directors of Bollywood, is all set to make his directorial debut with the Hindi remake of blockbuster Hollywood teen romantic drama ‘Fault In Our Stars’ (2014). Chhabra, who announced the project last year, has now revealed the female lead of the movie. Newcomer Sanjana Sanghi, who has previously played brief roles in films such as ‘Rockstar’ (2011), ‘Hindi Medium’ (2017) and ‘Fukrey Returns’ (2017), has been roped in to play the female part opposite Sushant Singh Rajput who toplines the project as the male lead.
Chhabra took to his Twitter handle to share the news. “Happy to announce that the talented and beautiful @SanjanaSanghi96 will be co-starring alongside @itsSSR in my debut directorial project #TheFaultInOurStars produced by @foxstarhindi & music by the master @arrahman,” he wrote.
Sushant Singh Rajput followed suit and tweeted, “The beautiful @sanjanasanghi96 will be co-starring with me in the remake of the Hollywood hit #TheFaultInOurStars directed by @CastingChhabra & music by @arrahman @foxstarhindi.”
Bagging the lead part in a film that boasts of a number of big names like A.R Rahman, Sushant Singh Rajput and Mukesh Chhabra is indeed a big break for the Lady Shri Ram College (Delhi) graduate Sanjana Sanghi who has previously appeared in just brief roles. Unable to contain her excitement, she took to Twitter to express her happiness. “Proud and honoured to be a part of this! Looking forward to work with my co-star @itsSSR in the romantic remake of the Hollywood blockbuster #TheFaultInOurStars! Thank you @CastingChhabra & @foxstarhindi for this opportunity.”
Produced by Fox Star Studios, the remake is expected to mount the shooting floor soon.
