Last seen in Abhishek Chaubey’s ‘Udta Punjab’ (2016), actress Kareena Kapoor Khan is gearing up for the release of her next film, titled ‘Veere Di Wedding’. While the actress has not officially confirmed any other project after ‘Veere Di Wedding’, some well-placed sources reveal that she has shortlisted four new movies, one of them being the Hindi remake of the successful Marathi film ‘Aapla Manus’ (2018), produced by Ajay Devgn.
“Among the four scripts that she has liked, one is the Hindi remake of the hit Marathi film Aapla Manus, which is being planned by Ashutosh Gowariker. Another story that she has liked is a women-centric film where she plays the titular role. It’s a film with a message,” reveals a source to a daily.
Kareena, who took a break from films post her pregnancy, had earlier said that it’s not right to call ‘Veere Di Wedding’ her comeback movie. “I’m hesitant to call ‘Veere Di Wedding’ a comeback film because I never really went away. I’m fortunate enough to still get plenty of great scripts to read, but when Rhea (Kapoor) came to me with this film, I was excited at the prospect of working on a film that is produced by women and stars four strong women.”
Also starring Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Sumeet Vyas in key characters, ‘Veere Di Wedding’ is scheduled to release on 1st June 2018.
