2017 turned out to be a great year for Bollywood actor Ali Fazal. On one hand, his Hindi film ‘Fukrey Returns’ (2017) turned out to be one of the highest grossing movies of the year. On the other hand, his Hollywood venture ‘Victoria & Abdul’ (2017) did not only open to great critical response but also bagged two Oscar nominations. Buoyed up by his recent successes, the actor is now gearing up to begin work on his next Hindi film which will be helmed by award-winning filmmaker, Tigmanshu Dhulia.
Titled ‘Milan Talkies’, the film is mounting the shooting floor next week in Lucknow. Fazal is also a part of the first shooting schedule of the movie and he is quite excited about shooting in the capital city of Uttar Pradesh simply because it happens to be his hometown.
“I have shot in Lucknow only once briefly for the Shah Rukh (Khan) produced ‘Always Kabhi Kabhi’ (2011) with Giselli Monteiro. I’m happy we will be filming Milan Talkies extensively in my hometown. Tigmanshu sir knows more eating joints than I do in my own city,” the actor says.
Talking about ‘Milan Talkies’, Ali says, “It’s a beautiful script. I have done several readings with Tigmanshu sir over Skype during my Los Angeles trip last month. We have been constantly exchanging notes. They start shooting from Monday or Tuesday and I will join them soon after.”
The film features Shraddha Srinath as the female lead.
