After ‘Phantom, Kabir Khan and Katrina Kaif to team up for a digital series

After a couple of lacklustre years, Bollywood diva Katrina Kaif is back in the reckoning. With the rousing success of her last release ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ (2017), which went on to pull in over Rs. 300 crores at the cash counter, the actress is on the wish-list of many top filmmakers all over again. Just like 2017, 2018 also promises to be a great year for the ‘Dhoom 3’ (2013) girl as she has some mega-budgeted films coming up this year.

Her first release of 2018 will be Yash Raj Films’ ‘Thugs Of Hindostan’ wherein she has been paired opposite none other than Aamir Khan after ‘Dhoom 3. Also starring Amitabh Bachchan and Fatima Sana Sheikh, the movie releases on 7th November. Right after ‘Thugs Of Hindostan’, Kat will be seen in Aanand L Rai’s ambitious venture ‘Zero’. The film has Shah Rukh Khan as the male lead, while Anushka Sharma is another leading lady along with Kaif.

The latest buzz has it that filmmaker Kabir Khan, who last helmed Salman Khan’s Tubelight’, is planning a web-series and to play the female lead in it, he wants to rope in Katrina Kaif. Khan and Kaif have worked together on three films in total. While ‘New York’ (2009) and ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ (2012) were box office hits, ‘Phantom’ (2015) did not meet the expectations.

Talking about working with the gorgeous actress again after ‘Phantom, Khan says, “If I had my way, I would cast Katrina in every film.” Though the filmmaker has yet not revealed whether or not Kat is part of her next web venture, some industry sources don’t deny the possibility.

Meanwhile, Kabir Khan is currently working on his first ever original digital show for Amazon Prime. Titled ‘The Forgotten Army’, it is a war epic on Subhash Chandra Bose’s Indian National Army. Besides ‘The Forgotten Army’, he is also working on his next Bollywood film ‘83’, starring Ranveer Singh.
