It seems like superstar Ajay Devgn is on a film signing spree. His latest film ‘Raid’ has just hit screens nationwide and now the news is coming in that the National Award winning actor has agreed to star in filmmaker Anees Bazmee’s next film.
For the uninitiated, Bazmee started his directorial career with a film featuring Ajay and Kajol in lead roles. Titled ‘Hulchul’ (1995), the movie was a big box office success. The actor-director duo last worked together in the successful psychological thriller film ‘Deewangee’ (2002). And now, they are coming together after a huge gap of 16 years.
Titled ‘Saade Saati’, their next film is being touted as an out-and-out comic caper. Spilling some more beans on the project, a source close to the development told a publication, “The movie is a comedy and it revolves around Ajay, who is suffering from 7 years of bad luck, which in astrological terms is called Saade Saati. The movie goes on floors this November and the rest of the cast is being finalized.”
Another source reveals that the actor was so impressed with the script of the film that he gave his nod to the project almost immediately. “Ajay has signed comedies lately only with Rohit Shetty. But Anees’ script caught his attention and he agreed to do the movie.”
Ajay has always been loved by the audience whenever he attempted comedy, the most recent example being the runaway success of ‘Golmaal Again’, which went on to rack up over 200 crores at the domestic cash counter.
Besides ‘Saade Saati’, Ajay Devgn currently has in his hand films like ‘Total Dhamaal’, T-Series’ next and the forthcoming biopic ‘Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior’.
