After the debacle of his recent release ‘Aiyaary’ (2018), Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra has pinned a lot of hopes on his forthcoming film ‘Kargil: Sher Shah’. The movie is a biopic on Indian Army Captain Vikram Batra, who sacrificed his life during the Kargil war to save his men. This will be the first biopic that Sidharth will topline ever since he made his acting debut with Dharma Productions blockbuster film, ‘Student Of The Year’.
The latest we hear that ‘Kargil: Sher Shah’ will mount the shooting floor this summer and the team will commence its first shooting schedule in the beautiful locales of Kashmir. Interestingly, Sidharth had also shot his last film ‘Aiyaary’ in the same city. After canning some important portions in Kashmir, the entire cast and crew will head to Ladakh, Chandigarh and the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun to film the remaining part of the biopic.
According to a well-placed source, “Sidharth has been in touch with Vikram’s twin brother, Vishal, who is onboard to offer inputs to the story. His girlfriend Dimple Cheema has also helped the team with the research as, besides Vikram’s valour, the film will also explore their love story. The team is aiming to wrap up the film by the year-end”.
Malhotra will play a double role in the biopic and, as part of his preparation for his part, he will train himself in horse-riding and shooting. “Prep will include training in horse-riding and shooting. Sidharth will play the double role of Vikram and Vishal,” added the source.
Talking about the female lead of the film, no name has been confirmed by the makers as yet. An announcement might be made as the film nears its commencement date in the next few weeks.
