After ruling Indian box office, ‘Hindi Medium’ to open in China

After putting up a great show at the domestic box office, T-Series’ popular film ‘Hindi Medium’ (2017) is all set for its theatrical release in China. Considering the overwhelming response Hindi films have been generating in the neighbouring country for the past few years, ‘Hindi Medium’ has great chances to spell its magic at the Chinese box office. According to reports, the movie will enter in Chinese cinemas on 4th April 2018.

A statement from producer, Bhushan Kumar, read, “There’s a unique twist in this tale. ‘Hindi Medium’ is content-driven and even though Irrfan is an internationally recognised talent, the Chinese distribution body opted for our teaser concept which shows the feet of a man, one representing poverty and the other representing material wealth.”

Starring Irrfan Khan and Pakistani actress Saba Qamar in lead roles, ‘Hindi Medium’ hit the theatres in India on 19th May 2017. Though the movie started off on a slow note, it went on to draw huge audience appreciation with the help of great word of mouth. Made on a moderate budget of Rs. 23 crore, ‘Hindi Medium’ pulled in a massive worldwide collection of Rs. 102.77 crore by the end of its theatrical run. Buoyed up by the runaway success of the film, the makers announced a sequel to ‘Hindi Medium’ which might enter cinemas by the end of the year.
