Producer Sanjeev Kumar is unhappy with popular Pakistani singer Atif Aslam for not promoting the recently released song ‘Sehmi Hai Dhadkan’ from his forthcoming film ‘Daas Dev’. The producer has been repeatedly requesting the award-winning singer for his active involvement in promotional activities but all his requests have fallen on deaf ears so far.
“I’m not sure why he isn’t taking part in the promotional activities. As a producer, I see that work promised hasn’t been executed,” Kumar whined while talking to a popular daily.
The makers of ‘Daas Dev’ launched ‘Sehmi Hai Dhadkan’ on February 22 as the first song from the film. A grand event was organized to unveil the track. While the whole cast and crew was present at the gala event, Atif Aslam’s absence was conspicuous.
Kumar says that his team needed Atif to promote the song as the singer enjoys a huge popularity on various social media platforms which would have helped them gain more traction. “He has 20 million followers on social media. Imagine the kind of traction we would have got had he promoted it,” he reasoned.
Directed by Sudhir Mishra, ‘Daas Dev’ is a contemporary take on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s classic novel, Devdas. The film stars Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari and Rahul Bhat in principal roles. Earlier scheduled to hit the silver screen on 9th March, the movie will now release on 23rd March.
