John Abraham and Akshay Kumar have worked together in three films so far – ‘Garam Masala’ (2005), ‘Desi Boyz’ (2011) and ‘Housefull 3’ (2012) – and all of them have worked wonders at the box office. Off all the films mentioned above, the Priyadarshan directorial ‘Garam Masala’ garnered the maximum amount of love from the audience and attracts a huge viewership on its television premiere even after so many years of its release.
While many actors are announcing sequels to their successful films to cash in on the brand value of the prequel, we have never heard John or Akshay talking about a sequel to ‘Garam Masala’. However, when John was recently asked about the same, he said, “I would love to do some fun films. Also, I love Akshay (Kumar) and enjoy working with him. In fact, I spoke to him the other day, and he said, ‘Let’s do something together’. We always have a burning desire to work together as we are very alike as human beings. As for ‘Garam Masala 2’, Akshay and I have been talking about it and I think that’d be great and a lot of fun. The storyline can be that 10 years later, there are more than three air hostesses (laughs). It will be fun but you have to make those fun films with people you have fun with. Even films such as ‘Desi Boyz’ and ‘Dishoom’ (2016) can be made into sequels as they have great potential.”
Meanwhile, John Abraham is currently gearing up to the release of his upcoming film ‘Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran’. Akshay Kumar, on the other hand, is shooting for Reema Kagti’s ‘Gold’.
