It was always expected that the clash between the Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer ‘Fanne Khan’ and Salman Khan’s much-awaited film ‘Race 3’ will be averted as both films near their release date. Looks like the same has happened as some sources confirm that the makers of ‘Fanne Khan’ have decided to shift the release date of their film by one month, saving Bollywood from yet another massive clash between two big films featuring two biggest stars of the country.
‘Fanne Khan’ and ‘Race 3’, both films were scheduled to lock horns with each other on Eid. But if reliable sources are to be believed, the makers at KriArj Entertainment, who are bankrolling ‘Fanne Khan’, have decided to push their film to 13th July, almost a month after ‘Race 3’ arrives in cinemas.
“It is a sensible decision by the makers to postpone the release date of Aishwarya’s film. It would indeed be hara-kiri to come on the same date as any big film, especially when it stars Salman Khan. They will lose out on some buzz in the news and gossip space for sure, but it is a good idea to put the film in the safe zone in the interests of the film’s box office collections,” reveals a trade source.
Helmed by award-winning filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, ‘Fanne Khan’ also features Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in principal roles. ‘Race 3’, on the other hand, boasts of an ensemble cast which has Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Saqib Saleem alongside superstar Salman Khan. The movie is the third installment of the blockbuster film franchise ‘Race’. Produced by Tips head honcho Ramesh Taurani, ‘Race 3’ is being helmed by Remo D’Souza.
