A delay expected in the funeral of veteran actress Sridevi

One of the brightest stars of Indian cinema Sridevi, who worked across all the leading film producing industries in the country, breathed her last on 24th February 2018, drowning her fans in a wave of sadness all over the world. Aged 54, the actress was inDubai where she suffered a massive heart attack while getting ready for dinner with her husband Boney Kapoor.

The actress was in Dubai to attend the wedding of her nephew Mohit Marwah. While her husband and younger daughter Khushi Kapoor flew back to India soon after the wedding celebration came to an end, Sridevi stayed back to spend some time with her sister. However, husband Boney Kapoor decided to give her a surprise and went back to Dubai on Saturday. He asked her out for dinner, following which the actress went into the bathroom to get ready. But when she did not return after some time, Boney checked on her in the bathroom and found her lying unconscious in the bathtub. Mr. Kapoor immediately rushed her to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

As the news of her untimely demise spread, people close to the Kapoors flung into action to bring her mortal remains back to India, but due to a long procedure in Dubai, it is taking a lot of time. On late Sunday night, a chartered flight flew to Dubai to bring her body back, but her fans and family members are still awaiting her arrival.

Her funeral was planned at Mumbai’s Pawan Hans in Juhu, Ville Parle, but since there have been delays in repatriating the body as a number of formalities are taking place it might get delayed.

As per our sources, her funeral will take place early in the morning on 27th February.
