Buzz has it that superstar Shah Rukh Khan will start shooting for one of the most ambitious film projects of recent times, ‘Salute’, from September this year. The actor has been denying his association with the film for a long time now, but now it seems that he has given his final nod to the space odyssey film.
For the uninitiated, ‘Salute’ is based on the life of celebrated astronaut Rakesh Sharma, who made India proud by becoming the first Indian astronaut to set his foot on the moon. Reportedly, SRK will commence shooting for the mega-budgeted movie right after wrapping up his forthcoming film ‘Zero’ which sees him in a dual role. The actor is supposed to complete his next in a few months and then focus on the first schedule of ‘Salute’.
“Zero is a film which will require a lot of VFX. Shah Rukh will wrap up Zero by April. He will perhaps begin the shoot of Salute by September and will shoot for close to two to three months and wrap its first schedule. The next schedule of Salute will begin from Jan 2019,” reveals a source.
Directed by Aanand L Rai, ‘Zero’ is coming in cinemas on 21st December 2018. Besides SRK, it also stars Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. The film is being produced by Colour Yellow Productions and Red Chillies Entertainment.
‘Salute’ is being bankrolled by Ronnie Screwvala under the banner of RSVP Films. Earlier, Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan was onboard to headline the film. However, the actor bowed out of the project as he was not in agreement with the makers on the terms of profit sharing and remuneration. Reportedly, Priyanka Chopra had also given her nod to the project, but as soon as Aamir opted out of the film and SRK stepped in, she too decided to bid adieu due to her not-so-good terms with King Khan.
