In a never heard before move, the makers of the popular Hindi film franchise ‘Baaghi’ (2016) have announced the third film in the series weeks before its second installment reaches cinemas on 30th March. The first installment of the action thriller franchise ‘Baaghi’ hit the silver screen in 2016 and was received extremely well by the audience. Starring Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor in principal roles, the movie had pulled in Rs. 78 crores by the end of its box office run in the domestic market.
The runaway success of the film was enough for the makers to announce its second installment, ‘Baaghi 2’. While Tiger Shroff was retained in the sequel, the makers roped in newcomer Disha Patani as the female lead, replacing Shraddha Kapoor. The trailer of ‘Baaghi 2’ is coming on 21st February while the film movie will release on 30th March. Just three days ahead of its trailer launch, the makers surprised everyone by announcing ‘Baaghi 3’.
Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the banner behind the franchise, took to Twitter and announced, “Our excitement level has just tripled! We are thrilled to share the 3rd installment of #SajidNadiadwala’s Baaghi franchise starring @iTIGERSHROFF directed by @khan_ahmedasas #Baaghi3 @WardaNadiadwala”
‘Baaghi’ was helmed by Sabbir Khan. But for the second installment, the directorial baton was passed on to choreographer-turned-director Ahmed Khan. Khan will take the franchise forward by directing the third installment as well.
While Tiger Shroff has been confirmed to topline ‘Baaghi 3’, we are now waiting for the makers to announce the name of the female lead.
