The duo, who delivered one of the biggest musical hits of the decade, is rumoured to be joining hands once again. Yes, we are talking about filmmaker Mohit Suri and actor Aditya Roy Kapur who last collaborated for ‘Aashiqui 2’ (2013), a sequel to the Mahesh Bhatt directed 1990 film ‘Aashiqui’.
Buzz has it that Mohit Suri has a script which he wants to direct next. Some reports say that the film might be a sequel to his hit film ‘Ek Villain’ (2014). Just the day before yesterday, rumours were doing the rounds that Suri is planning to helm ‘Ek Villain’ sequel with the original actor of the movie, Sidharth Malhotra, and that he has approached Kriti Sanon to play the female lead in it.
However, Mohit has rubbished all such rumours, saying that Balaji Motion Pictures has yet not approached him to initiate work on the sequel. “I’ve heard that I am making ‘Ek Villain 2’ and that I already have a bound script which has been given to Aditya. But nothing like that is happening. ‘Ek Villain’ is a Balaji Telefilms property and they haven’t approached me yet,” he said.
When asked about his reunion with Aditya, Suri confirmed that he is associating with the actor once again for a thriller film. “Yes, I am working with Aditya. It will be a thriller,” he said. The director also added that he loves making thrillers. “My earlier films like ‘Murder 2’ (2011) and ‘Kalyug’ (2005) were also in the same genre.”
After the release of his last directorial ‘Half Girlfriend’ (2017), Mohit Suri was also planning a sports-based film with actor-producer Farhan Akhtar. But if latest reports are to be believed, the project has been shelved due to some unknown reasons.
