Directed by Vikas Bahl, ‘Queen’ (2014) turned out to be a breakout movie for the National Award winning actress, Kangana Ranaut. The film did not only catapult Ranaut to the apogee of stardom, it also helped actor Rajkummar Rao, who played an important character in the movie, win loads of accolades. Now, after four years of ‘Queen’, both the actors are coming together yet again to star in R Singh and Ekta Kapoor’s forthcoming psychological thriller.
Sharing some details with an English daily, a source said, “It’s a fast-paced thriller revolving around the two protagonists. Set in London and Mumbai, it is expected to roll in March. Raj recently heard the script and immediately came on board. Both Kangana and he are looking forward to working with each other once again.”
Rajkummar Rao is currently shooting for two of his upcoming films, ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ and ‘Stree’. ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ also features Sonam Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Juhi Kapoor in pivotal roles and is being shot in Punjab. ‘Stree’, on the other hand, has just wrapped up its first schedule. The movie features Shraddha Kapoor in the lead role. Rao will start shooting for his untitled film with Kangana Ranaut only after wrapping up his current assignments.
The psychological thriller will be helmed by South filmmaker Prakash Kovelamudi. The story for the same has been provided by his wife who has previously written many Hindi films. “The film has been written by Prakash’s wife, writer Kanika Dhillon who had earlier written the screenplay and dialogue for the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer ‘Ra.One’ (2011), Abhishek Kapoor’s ‘Kedarnath’ (2018) and her husband’s Anushka Shetty-starrer Tamil-Telugu bilingual, ‘Size Zero’ (2015),” adds the source.
