Popular Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra, who was last seen in Dharma Productions’ ‘Ittefaq’ (2017), is reportedly in talks to star in the Hindi remake of popular Kannada film ‘Kirik Party’ (2016).
Directed by Rishab Shetty, ‘Kirik Party’ was a campus romcom which featured Rakshit Shetty, Rashmika Mandanna and Samyuktha Hegde in lead roles. The movie was received extremely well by the audience upon its release and won many awards and accolades.
Buoyed up by the response it generated at the Kannada box office, Hindi film producer Ajay Kapoor is planning a Hindi remake of the movie.
Buzz has it that Sidharth recently met Kapoor where both discussed the film. “Sidharth has had meetings with producer Ajay Kapoor, who holds the remake rights of ‘Kirik Party’, and loved his part. He is yet to sign on the dotted line but is looking forward to starting work on this one,” a daily quotes a source.
If Sidharth agrees to come onboard for the film, it will be a sort of a homecoming for the talented actor as his debut film ‘Student Of The Year’ (2012) was also a college romcom drama.
Meanwhile, Sidharth is gearing up for the release of his much-awaited film ‘Aiyaary’. Directed by celebrated filmmaker Neeraj Pandey, the film is coming in cinemas on 16th February.
