One of the most versatile Bollywood actors, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has time and again showed us his range as an artist with many of his stellar performances. Like 2017, the award-winning actor is going to be seen in a number of films in 2018, one of them being ‘Genius’. Sources reveal that the actor is set to play a baddie in the film.

For the uninitiated, Nawaz rose to fame after appearing in a villainous role in a string of successful films like ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur’ (2012), ‘Kick’ (2014), ‘Badlapur’ (2015) and ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’. The audience has always liked the actor whenever he dived into a dark zone and delivered an electrifying performance. In his upcoming film ‘Genius’, he is once again going to reprise a negative character.

‘Genius’ is being helmed by noted filmmaker Anil Sharma who is launching his son Utkarsh Sharma with the film. While Utkarsh plays the male lead in the movie, Nawaz will be seen as the lead antagonist.

“Nawaz is playing a ferocious villain in this film. Anil Sharma’s son Utkarsh, who played the child artist in ‘Gaddar Ek Prem Katha’ (2001), plays the hero in the film,” reveals a source from the set.

The whole cast and crew of the film are currently shooting at Mudh Island in Mumbai where they just shot an important scene. “Nawaz is planning a kidnap in this scene. Nawaz has used a typical colloquial language. Probably the source is trying to kidnap the lead character, this girl is a fresh face named Ishita.”

As per the source, Nawaz intimidated other actors with his towering performance. “Nawazuddin is so meticulous in the scene that the other actors did get slightly intimidated by his performances. The shoot is going in at a blitz Krieg speed. The schedule comprises of four to five days at Mudh Island. Next schedule will also continue after a break in Mumbai only,” added the source.

Besides ‘Genius’, Nawaz will also be seen in ‘Thackeray’ and ‘Manto’.
