Actress Shweta Tripathi, who rose to fame after delivering a stirring performance in Neeraj Ghaywan’s award-winning film ‘Masaan’ (2015), is all set to play one of the most exciting roles of her career. After winning raves for her last movie ‘Haraamkhor’ (2017), Tripathi has started shooting for her next film ‘Cargo’ which is a sci-fi drama.
Also starring talented actor Vikrant Massey, ‘Cargo’ is being helmed by debutante Arati Kadav. Shweta and Vikrant play astronauts in the movie. The whole cast and crew of the film are currently shooting at Film City in Mumbai.
“The film is set inside a space-ship. We began shooting in the first week of January and have another week to go before wrap-up,” Shweta reveals to a daily. The actress adds that she plays a character called Yuvishka Shekhar who has powers to heal just like her senior, a character played by her co-star Vikrant.
Apart from ‘Cargo’, Shweta Tripathi will also be seen in a Tamil film called ‘Mehendi Circus’. The movie has been written by National Award winning writer-director Raju Murugan. The actress was flying from one city to the other to shoot for both projects simultaneously. She finds the whole experience hectic but fun. “It was hectic but fun. We had a lot of reading sessions with Arati who made us watch sci-fi films, books to go through and told us stories. It was like being back in school,” she beamed.
‘Cargo’ is expected to release at the end of the year.
