If you have been missing veteran comic actor Govinda in a leading performance for a long time now, here is the great news for you. The actor, who used to be a force to reckon with in the 1990s and early 2000s, will shortly be seen in producer Sajid Qureshi’s forthcoming comic caper ‘Fry Day’. 11th May 2018has been locked as the release date for the film.
Popular trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced the release date of the film on his Twitter handle. He wrote, “#FryDay starring #Govinda, @varunsharma90, Digangna Suryavanshi and Prabhleen Sandhu will release on 11th May. Directed by Abhishek Dogra, the film clashes with Alia Bhatt’s #Raazi on that day!”
Last seen in a brief appearance in Anurag Basu’s much-talked-about film ‘Jagga Jasoos’ (2017), Govinda have spent more than three decades in Bollywood and still enjoys the reputation of being one of the finest comic entertainers in the country. He was going through a rough patch in his professional career for past many years, but we hope his next film brings his dwindling career back on the track.
Apart from Govinda, ‘Fry Day’ also stars actors like Varun Sharma, Digangna Suryavanshi and Prabhleen Sandhu. Veteran writer Rajeev Kaul, who has previously written the screenplay for highly successful comedy films like ‘Ishq’ (1997), ‘Dulhe Raja’ (1998) and ‘Hadh Kar Di Aapne’ (2000), has written this film as well. Directed by ‘Dolly Ki Doli’ (2015) fame Abhishek Dogra, ‘Fry Day’ will clash with Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal’s next film ‘Raazi’ which also releases on 11th May 2018.
