Actress Aditi Rao Hydari, who has impressed the audience with her brief but bewitching performance in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial ‘Padmaavat’ (2018), has reportedly bagged another film with distinguished filmmaker Mani Ratnam. Both last collaborated on ‘Kaatru Veliyidai’, which released in 2017 and was received well by the audience, with Hydari garnering flattering reviews for her stunning performance.
Confirming the news, the ‘Bhoomi’ actress told a National daily, “The positive reviews for ‘Padmaavat’ were totally unexpected since I thought I didn’t have much to do. Now I am again doing a film with Mani Ratnam, just a year after Kaatru Veliyidai.”
If reports are to be believed, the yet-to-be-titled film will be a multi-starrer and the makers have already roped in Vijay Sethupathi, Simbu, Fahadh Faasil, Jyothika and Aishwarya Rajesh for principal roles. Besides aforementioned actors, senior actors Prakash Raj and Jayasudha are also rumoured to be a part of the project.
Reports also claim that Mani Ratnam has signed his favourite AR Rahman to score music for the film. Noted cinematographer Santosh Sivan will join forces with the ace director for the sixth time to lense the movie.
The pre-production work of the film is going on in full swing as Ratnam wants to roll the film in March. Sources reveal that some portions of the film will be shot abroad.
The film will be made under the banner of Madras Talkies.
